A 32-year-old Namibian man is in critical condition after he was stabbed during an argument in Otjiwarongo on Friday night.
The incident happened around 22:30 at a house believed to belong to a 50-year-old woman, who has since been arrested for attempted murder.
According to Maureen Mbeha, Head of Community Affairs for NamPol’s Otjozondjupa region, the victim had visited his ex-girlfriend when a disagreement broke out and turned violent.
It is reported that the woman stabbed the man with a sharp metal object, injuring him under the left arm and leaving a deep chest wound.
The man was first taken to Otjiwarongo State Hospital but was later transferred to Windhoek for advanced medical care. His condition is still critical.
The suspect is scheduled to appear in the Otjiwarongo Magistrate’s Court on Monday. Police are continuing their investigation.
